current

A movement or flow of electricity. Electric current is measured by the number of coulombs per second flowing past a certain point in a conductor. A coulomb is equal to about 6.25 × 1018 electrons (6,250,000,000,000,000,000 electrons). A flow of 1 coulomb per second is called 1 ampere, the unit of the rate of flow of current.
