The liquid film (plating solution) that adheres to the workpieces and their fixtures as they are removed from any given process solution or their rinses. Drag-out volume from a tank depends on the viscosity of the solution, the surface tension, the withdrawal time, the draining time, and the shape and texture of the workpieces. The drag-out liquid may drip onto the floor and cause wastestream treatment problems. Regulated substances contained in this liquid must be removed from wastestreams or neutralized prior to discharge to POTW sewers.
