(1) The top of the wetted line, the water surface, or the hydraulic grade line of water flowing in an open channel or partially full conduit. (2) The lowest point of the channel inside a pipe, conduit, canal, or manhole. This term is used by some contractors, however, the preferred term for this usage is invert.
