MCRT (mean cell residence time)

An expression of the average time, usually days, that a microorganism will spend in the activated sludge process.

MCRT = (total suspended solids in activated sludge process [lb] or [kg]) / (total suspended solids removed from from process [lb/d] or [kg/d]).
